Do I need Science & Maths in 11th to apply for Humanities in Canada, the USA, or LSE?

Hey! So I want to pursue a humanities degree abroad, either in Canada, the USA, or LSE. But I didn’t take Science or Maths in 11th, and I’m wondering if that will affect my chances of getting in. Does anyone know if I need those subjects for admission?

Hey! Honestly, it depends on the university and the course you want to apply to. Most of the time, for humanities courses like English, History, or Political Science, you don’t need Science or Maths in 11th and 12th. As long as you have a strong background in your subjects (like English or any social science), you should be fine. Just make sure to check the specific course requirements on the uni website. Good luck!

Yeah, I agree with the above! For places like LSE or in the US/Canada, they usually care more about your grades in subjects that are related to what you want to study. Like, if you’re aiming for Law or something in the humanities, they focus on your performance in subjects like English, Economics, etc. You can always check the specific entry requirements to be sure.

I think it’s safe to say you’re good without Science/Maths for most humanities courses. My friend applied to Canada for a sociology program and didn’t take those subjects either. She was just solid in her other subjects. The key is having good grades in the ones you took and maybe doing some extracurriculars related to your course (like debate, writing, or volunteering).
