Can a professor send recommendation for 2 students to the same college?

by yash_orbiter

If two students ask the same teacher for a recommendation letter for university and they’re applying to the same place, does that create any problem? Do colleges care?

Yes my classmate n i both got recos from our chem teacher for unis in canada and nobody questioned anything. Admissions people are used to seeing this.

Not at all. Teachers often write for multiple students, even to the same university. It’s pretty normal during application season. The key is that each letter should be personalized — if that’s done right, it won’t be an issue.

It’s actually expected in most schools. One teacher might write for 5–6 students in the same year. Colleges know that. As long as the recommendation letter for university is well written and honest, it’s totally okay. Just focus on making the rest of your application strong too.
