Hello,

Application Window (Winter 2027): Most German universities open applications around March 2027 with deadlines typically by 15 July 2027 (semester starts October 2027).

APS: Apply ideally by Jan–March 2027 so you receive the certificate before applications open.

IELTS & GRE: IELTS (6.5–7.0) is usually required for English-taught programs; GRE is generally not mandatory, only if the specific program asks.

German Language Level: For English-taught programs, German is not mandatory (A1–A2 helpful); for German-taught programs, usually B2–C1 level is required.

Start preparing from November 26. Some university start application from December 26.

So first look for the university and then go accordingly. I hope this helps.

Hey @Gayatree_B , thankyou very much for the insights. This will really help in my planning.

Apart from this I just wanted to know that whether getting scholarships is a realistic scenario and if so when should I apply for Scholarships.

Also what are the scholarships , I can look for and what are the documents required for the same.

Do let me know , if you have any idea on this.

Thankyou once again!

Hello @Rupam_Chakraborty ,

Getting scholarships is a realistic possibility if you have good academic grades, a strong Statement of Purpose, and apply early. Most scholarships require you to start searching and applying about 8–12 months before your intended intake, and many deadlines for the Fall intake fall between December and March. Some common scholarships you can look for include DAAD, Deutschlandstipendium, Erasmus+, and university-specific scholarships offered by individual universities. The typical documents required for scholarship applications include your academic transcripts, CV or resume, Statement of Purpose, letters of recommendation, language test scores (such as IELTS or TOEFL), and a copy of your passport. I hope this helps.
