Yeah I’ve heard similar! My cousin did her bachelor’s from a different uni but said that Darmstadt have a good name in engineering. The applied sciences unis focus more on the industry side, so if you’re planning to work in Germany after, it’s a good pick. Professors are chill and the labs are well equipped too.
Hey @Caramel-35 I actually first considered that Darmstadt University of Applied Sciences for my MS in Electrical Engineering & IT the program looked solid with practical labs, multiple specialization streams (like automation and embedded systems), and strong industry ties in Germany’s tech hub. Reviews from current students mention that the coursework is very hands-on and updated to market needs, job fairs are common, and cost of living isn’t too bad
That said, I ended up choosing the Master’s in Information Security (MTIS) at the University of Victoria in Canada instead.
So between the two: Darmstadt is a great, down-to-earth choice if you want applied learning in Germany. But if you’re looking for strong global rankings, co-op opportunities, and exposure You can find better opportunities too.
