Heyy I’m looking at Queensland University of Technology for next year and was wondering what students usually do on weekends? Is campus life chill or do people just leave? Want to know what kinda social/life scene to expect.
Depends where you stay. If you are in Brisbane city, weekends are actually pretty fun. QUT is like right near south bank so people go there a lot… there’s a beach pool, art galleries, food markets. Plus university clubs usually host meetups or hikes or something on weekends.
Yep True. Also u’ll find a lot of QUT students hang around Kelvin Grove campus too, especially for student housing vibes. Saturday mornings there’s a farmers market right on campus, live music sometimes too. People also plan beach trips to gold coast now and then (it’s like 1.5 hrs away max by train).
Also if you are into gaming or anime or like cultural clubs, they’re active during weekends. QUT has many student societies so there’s always some event or mini fest going on. And sport too!! the QUT sports clubs run reccuring games n tournaments even on sundays sometimes. You won’t get bored if you make the effort to join stuff
