The Government of Japan is accepting applications for the MEXT (Ministry of Education, Culture, Sports, Science, and Technology) Scholarship Programme 2025. This program will offer Indian undergraduate students the opportunity to study in Japan for a year. Starting in October 2025, up to nine undergraduate students specializing in the Japanese language and culture will receive this scholarship.

Scholarship Benefits

Monthly stipend: 117,000 Yen (₹63,600)

Tuition fees: Fully covered

Airfare: Round-trip provided

Eligibility

Type: Undergraduate level leading to Certificate.

Age Limit: Born between April 2, 1995, and April 1, 2007.

Qualification: Enrolled in selected universities, with at least one year of Japanese language or culture studies.

Health Certificate: Applicants must submit a health certificate in the prescribed format, signed by a physician.

Selection & Application Process

Applicants must submit their applications through their universities within the specified period. This preliminary selection will include document screening, a written test, and an interview in February 2025.
