The Swiss Government Excellence Scholarships 2025-26 will open for applications on August 4, 2025, offering a golden opportunity for Indian students and researchers aspiring to study or conduct research in Switzerland.
These scholarships are funded by the Federal Commission for Scholarships for Foreign Students (FCS) and aim to foster international academic exchange and research collaboration.

Swiss cantonal universities
Universities of applied sciences
Federal Institutes of Technology: ETH Zurich (ETHZ) or EPFL
ETH domain research institutes: PSI, WSL, Empa, Eawag
Scholarship Types & Funding
Research, PhD, and Art Scholarships: CHF 1,920/month (~₹2 lakh)
Postdoctoral Scholarships: CHF 3,500/month (~₹3.7 lakh)
Covers basic living expenses for one person
Key Requirements
An academic supervisor in Switzerland who agrees to guide the proposed research
Strong research proposal and academic profile
