Which university to choose?

I’m looking to pursue a Master’s degree in Canada. I’m considering the University of Calgary and the University of Waterloo based on their academic standing and affordability. Could anyone offer a comparison of these two universities, and suggest any other Canadian universities that might be suitable?

Those are both good choices, but they’re quite different. Waterloo has a strong reputation in engineering and computer science, particularly in areas like AI and quantum computing. Calgary, on the other hand, is known for its energy and resource management programs, and has a growing tech scene. Affordability-wise, Calgary is generally considered to have a lower cost of living than Waterloo.

Yeah, I looked into both when I was applying. Waterloo is definitely more competitive, especially for certain programs. The co-op program is a big draw, but it can also make it more expensive. Calgary is a bit more laid-back, and you get a good mix of academic rigor and a more manageable lifestyle. It really depends on what field you’re going into.

I’m leaning towards a program that combines technology with environmental science or sustainability. So, both seem to have potential.
