Which countries are the best for Indian students who want to immigrate and eventually get citizenship?

Hi everyone, I’m an Indian student with 94% in 12th and a 9.2 GPA (expecting 9.5) in Computer Science engineering. I’m looking to do a Master’s in Cybersecurity or CS abroad and eventually settle there (PR/citizenship). Which country would be best for the IT/software security sector, considering ease of getting PR/citizenship, health, and quality of life?

You have pretty good scores! I would suggest UK, Canada, Australia possibly. But as a fresher it might be difficult to land a job after you complete your studies there. Need work experience to land a job.

I’ve been looking into this myself, though my focus was a bit more on general CS. From what I’ve seen, Canada is often a popular choice for Indians. They have a points-based immigration system that can be quite favorable, especially with your academic record. Plus, the quality of life is generally considered excellent.

@dominicmalone There are so many options and PR/citizenship is a huge factor. Plus, you want a good quality of life. It’s a lot to juggle.

But I know people who have landed jobs even as fresher they went to study abroad

But it depends from country to country about the job situation otherwise going abroad to study is definitely good if you have figured out the finances and everything and you are clear about your career goals, but you need to choose a country carefully.

@aaravmehta Sure there are a lot of options but you need to do some prior research too…

Yes I am doing my research too but need to get insights to finally decide on something.

And Canada is definitely on my radar. I’ve heard good things about their cybersecurity programs too. But what about the US? It’s the land of opportunity, right? Surely the IT sector is booming there.

The US is a tough one. The tech scene is undeniable, but getting a Green Card is incredibly competitive. It’s practically a lottery system. And the political climate around immigration can be unpredictable. Plus, healthcare is a major concern – it’s expensive and complicated.

Also, healthcare in the US is a big drawback. I looked into Australia too. They have a strong tech sector and a good quality of life, plus the weather is amazing. But it’s far, and the cost of living can be pretty high.
