Where can I learn German in Delhi and the NCR, and when can I start?

I’m currently in my 3rd year of B.Tech, 6th semester, with a CGPA of 7.67.

I’m interested in learning German and am aware of the Goethe-Institut and Language Pantheon. However, Goethe is quite expensive and has limited seats, leading to long waiting times.

Are there any other reputable institutes in East, South Delhi, or Noida that offer decent German language courses? If anyone has studied at these institutes, I’d appreciate hearing about their experiences. Specifically, I’d like to know how long it might take to reach the B2 level starting from absolutely no prior German knowledge (I’ve only completed a couple of sections on Duolingo).

Finally, if anyone else is planning to pursue a Master’s degree abroad, I’d love to connect and share experiences!

I’ve heard good things about the Max Mueller Bhavan, though I’m not sure about their current pricing or wait times. They’re often compared to Goethe. There’s also the Indian-German Institute of Technology (IGIT) in Greater Noida, they might offer courses, though their focus is more technical. Have you checked those out?

I took German classes at a place called “Deutsch Akademie” in South Delhi. It was a decent experience, the teachers were good, and the class sizes were manageable. It took me about 1.5 years to reach B2, starting from scratch. But that was with consistent study, both in class and at home. Duolingo is a good start, but you’ll need more structured learning to reach B2 quickly.

Hey @Neil_3 , 1.5 years is a good benchmark, thanks! Did you feel their teaching was comprehensive? I’m aiming for B2 because I’m hoping to do my Master’s abroad, possibly in Germany.

Oh, me too! I’m also planning to apply for Master’s programs in Germany. I’m currently learning German through a combination of online resources and italki tutors. It’s more flexible for me since I’m also working. Have you considered that? It might be a good way to supplement classroom learning or if you can’t find a suitable institute.
