Why do people even need to give IELTS if they’re going abroad? Like is it really that important? I am very confused please help!

Most of the universities demand it to know weather you are capable to understand the class which will be carried in there English accents. Any how IELTS is main requirement for your studies in abroad and not mandatory in all the country/universities. There are some other English proficiency exams other than IELTS.
