I’m planning to study abroad after college, and i’ve been hearing a lot about IELTS. Just wanted to know, what is a good iIELTS score if I wanna get into a good grad school? Like does it need to be high or just decent enough?
Depends on the country… most US universities want 6.5 or 7 overall, with no section below 6. Some top places ask for 7.5. UK and Canada usually need similar scores. But you definitely don’t need like 9, even 7 is solid for many universities.
For most good grad schools, a score of 6.5 overall with no band less than 6.0 is the minimum. But if you want to get into top-ranked unis, then aiming for 7.0 or above is safer and makes your application stronger.
For European university it also depends on courses that you select. When it comes to the minimum score that the university prefer is 6.5. Even Some course will be having a cut off of 5-5.5 . In order to be in safer part aim to get around 6.5 and above.
