Someone said SAT helps for college abroad?? Like US etc?? But I don’t really get what it is?![]()
Is SAT exam tough?? Also can anyone give it or only people from certain backgrounds?
SAT’s basically an entrance test if you are planning to apply to unis in the US, a few others too (like some in Canada, Singapore). It’s not like a science-only thing or anything…anyone from any stream can give it. Mostly people give it in 11th or 12th if they want to apply abroad right after school. It tests math (not very hard tbh), English reading & writing.
Hello @Arjun_Mehta ,
The SAT is mainly for students who want to study bachelor’s (undergrad) abroad, especially in the USA. Anyone can give it. It’s not limited to any background.
The exam checks your English and math skills. It’s not super hard, but you’ll need to practice to get a good score. Some colleges need it, while others have made it optional. So if you’re planning to study in the U.S., it’s good to check each university’s requirement.
- The SAT is a standardized test which has two sections: Reading and Writing, and Math. Each section is given 64 and 70 minutes respectively.
- Although many US universities are now test optional, an SAT score strengthens your application along with your board marks, which is important for an international student.
- SAT scores are also considered alongside board marks by some universities in Canada, Australia, the UK and Singapore.
4)The SAT tests reasoning, comprehension, and basic math to assess college readiness, and your score is considered alongside school grades and essays for admission. - No specific stream or subject is required. The math section is also basic.
