Trying to figure out SUNY Buffalo acceptance rate and SAT/ACT scores?

Anyone know the acceptance rate for SUNY Buffalo? What kind of SAT or ACT scores do they usually expect from international students? Just trying to see where I stand before diving deep :grimacing:

SUNY buffalo acceptance rate is actually chill… it’s around 70% so def not impossible. They look at your overall profile too, not just scores. For SAT, something like 1200-1350 is considered decent. ACT-wise, 25-30 is a good range. But it also depends on your major. CS and engineering might want more.

Hey @ajay_sing
SUNY Buffalo’s acceptance rate is around 65–70%, so it’s moderately selective but not super tough to crack. For scores, the middle 50% of admitted students usually fall in the 1210–1380 SAT range or about 27–32 ACT.

If you’re international, they’re test-optional, but sending scores in that range definitely strengthens your chances. A lot also depends on your grades, extracurriculars, and how you frame your application.

So if you’re sitting in/around 1300+ SAT or 29–30 ACT, you’re pretty much in the safe zone. Even a bit lower could work since their acceptance rate is decent.

I too was confused earlier but talked to a senior who’s there right now. They said internationals just need to show a solid academic record + ok scores. Even if your SAT is like 1150-1200 and the rest is strong, you got chances. just focus on ur essays and stuff too, that matters more than anyone thinks.

@ajay_sing SUNY Buffalo has an acceptance rate of about 65–75%, making it moderately selective compared to other US public universities. For international students, SAT or ACT scores are now optional, but if you choose to submit them, the typical admitted range is around 1210–1380 on the SAT and 27–32 on the ACT. If your academics, essays, and overall profile are strong, you can still have a good chance even without test scores, but submitting scores in or above that range can strengthen your application further.
