Texas vs Chicago for MS CS? 🤔

Guys i’ve been checking out some unis for MS in computer science and i’m stuck between University of Texas at Arlington and Illinois Institute of Tech in Chicago. Can anyone tell me which one’s better for jobs, research stuff and like industry connects? specially for international students. Also if anyone knows more good universities in texas for ms, pls drop those too :sob::folded_hands:

I’d say IIT Chicago has a bit of an edge if u wanna be near companies and tech jobs. It’s literally in downtown so u get a lot of access to networking events, internships etc. But cost of living is high af  Arlington is cheaper for sure and still has decent access to Dallas tech scene.

TBH UTA is kinda underrated. Loads of Indians go there and the alumni network is helpful. Dallas is growing for tech jobs, maybe not as big as Chicago yet but still solid. Research is okayish, depends on profs. If u wanna save money n still get decent exposure UTA might work.

Been talking to seniors, most say IIT has better lab facilities + stronger reputation for research in CS. But u gotta hustle more cuz it’s competitive and weather sucks ngl. Also, visa issues are easier to manage in texas they said? not sure tho, anyone else heard that?
