Taiwan Opens Doors for Indian Students: Dual Degrees, Scholarships & AI Internships Ahead

Over 10 top Taiwanese universities, including National Tsing Hua University, China Medical University, and Tamkang University, recently visited India to explore dual-degree programs, research tie-ups, and student exchanges.

Organized by the Taipei Economic and Cultural Center in India (TECC), the visit focused on:

  • Exchange programs in AI, semiconductors, and sustainability
  • Scholarships for Indian students in degree courses
  • Collaborative research in biotechnology, medicine, and cultural studies

As of 2025, 1,500 Indian students are studying in Taiwan, a 57% rise in the past decade. Most are enrolled in engineering, AI, and tech-related programs, aligning perfectly with Taiwan’s booming semiconductor sector.

Meanwhile, Taiwanese firms have invested over $5 billion (₹41,600 crore) in India, strengthening ties in electronics and innovation.

Why this matters: Beyond the usual destinations like the US, UK, and Canada, countries such as Taiwan, South Korea, the Netherlands, and Ireland are emerging as affordable, innovation-driven study hubs.
