I am thinking about doing MS in CS later but confused which one’s better – Stony Brook or SUNY Buffalo? I know both are SUNY schools but like what’s the difference? Which one’s more worth it for CS? Also if anyone knows the SUNY Buffalo Masters application deadline pls tell 
First of all let me answer your major concern..
Suny buffalo’s deadline for MS application is 31st Dec for Fall intake which has been extended to 1st of Feb now. For spring the dealine is 30th of Sept.
Looking into academics I don’t feel like there’s much difference in both universities. But apart from that I would want you to also consider the living conditions during Winter at both the places. Buffalo receives more snow than Stony Brook due to the Lake Snow Effect. Also look into the on-campus jobs available at both the places. Suny buffalo does offer a lot of those. Moreover consider looking into industries in the locality of University. Buffalo doesn’t have many of those. These industries give preference to the local candidate more since they do known the academics of the university in there locale.

I had one follow-up question—how would you compare the career support/networking opportunities (like on-campus recruitment, alumni connections) between Stony Brook and SUNY Buffalo for CS graduates?
