Scholarships for undergrad

I am looking for undergraduate scholarships for the September 25 intake. I will be studying computer science. I have offers from the University of Warwick, the University of Bath, Durham University, and the University of Edinburgh. I am considered an international student since I’ve resided in India most of my life, but my nationality is British. Hence, please help me find scholarships that don’t require me to be an Indian national. I have already applied for the Gyandhan scholarship. Thank you.

Hi @ridhimakamat!

Big congrats on getting offers from top UK universities – Warwick, Bath, Durham, and Edinburgh! That’s awesome, especially for a competitive course like Computer Science!

Since you have British nationality but have lived most of your life in India, you’ll be applying as an international student – but the good news is that there are scholarships that don’t require you to be an Indian national.

Here are some great options for you to explore for the September 2025 intake:

Scholarships for Computer Science Students

University of Warwick

  • Global Excellence Scholarship: For international students with strong academics – perfect for CS students.
  • Some CS-specific scholarships might also be listed by the department, so worth checking or emailing them directly.

University of Bath

  • Bath International Scholarships (BISS): Open to high-achieving international students, including those in CS.
  • Some departments offer their own support – ask the CS department if they have anything extra.

Durham University

  • International Scholarships: Available to undergraduate students in all fields, including Computer Science.
  • Look into faculty-specific awards through the Department of Computer Science.

University of Edinburgh

  • Edinburgh Global Undergraduate Scholarships: Open to top-performing international students – CS is often included.
  • They also offer tech-related awards, especially if you’ve done coding projects or competitions.

Other Scholarship Options

  • British Council or GREAT Scholarships – these may have opportunities for tech/CS students and often don’t limit by nationality.
  • External funds or trusts like Royal Society of Edinburgh or Commonwealth-focused grants for students with a British passport.

Tips to Boost Your Chances:

  • Highlight your CS projects, coding competitions, internships, or anything tech-related.
  • Reach out to the university’s international office or CS department – they can tell you about lesser-known scholarships too.
  • Focus on merit-based awards, as they usually care more about your academic record than where you’ve lived.

And if you have any more questions or doubts, feel free to reach out! :handshake:
