Russia Announces 300 Fully Funded Scholarships for Indian Students for 2026–27

Indian students aiming to study abroad now have a new pathway as the Russian government has opened applications for 300 fully funded scholarships for the 2026–27 academic year. The initiative covers tuition fees at most universities, except for Lomonosov Moscow State University and MGIMO, and is available for undergraduate, specialist, postgraduate, and doctoral programs, as well as advanced training courses.

  • Sports & Arts

Many medical and engineering programmes are also offered in English. Students who need it can take a one-year Russian language preparatory course before starting their degree.

The selection process involves two stages:

  1. Academic Evaluation: based on grades, recommendation letters, research work, and competition certificates.
  2. University Placement & Visa Processing: handled by Russia’s Ministry of Science and Higher Education.
