From 1 December 2025, Indian nationals applying for a New Zealand visa must submit Police Clearance Certificates (PCCs) issued only by a Regional Passport Office of the Ministry of External Affairs. Local police-issued PCCs, previously accepted, will no longer be valid.
Key Changes

Only Regional Passport Office PCCs will be accepted.

Local police station, Deputy Commissioner, or Superintendent-issued PCCs will be rejected.

This rule applies only to Indian nationals residing in India.

Rules for Indian nationals living abroad or for non-Indians with past residence in India remain unchanged.
Important Notes for Students

PCCs are required for visitor, student, and work visas if your stay exceeds 24 months.

Certificates must be less than 6 months old at the time of application.

Some issuing authorities may require fingerprints, so plan in advance.

Provide an English translation if the PCC is in a language other than English.
