Job eligibility for US federal government job

Are international students eligible for federal government jobs in the United States?

The answer would be no as international students cannot directly apply for most federal government jobs in the United States.

Is there no way out then? or is there specific criteria required to meet so as to be eligible for the the job?

You can be eligible, if you have dual citizenship (U.S. and your home country), you might be eligible for some federal jobs but not all.

Also adding to @VedGupta9, you also be eligible if you are a green card holder, then it will make you eligible for most of the federal jobs.

Thank you for the suggestions

International students are generally not eligible for federal government jobs in the U.S., as these are reserved for U.S. citizens or permanent residents. Exceptions include internships or roles requiring specialized skills if no qualified citizen is available, but these are rare. International students can, however, work for private companies contracting with the government if it complies with their visa status.
