Thinking about doing MS in Computer Science from University of Central Missouri. Is it worth it in terms of teaching and jobs after? Trying to figure if this place actually helps with career or just gives a degree. Anyone here knows how it really is?
Hey! I’m in my 2nd sem here. The coursework is decent, not super intense but you learn if you put in the effort. It’s more applied than theoretical. They have specializations like AI and software development too. The faculty is chill and helpful.
I’ve seen some seniors get jobs in dev roles, testing, even data stuff. But like, nothing’s handed to u. It’s not Ivy League, so you really gotta hustle, network, and apply smart. CPT and OPT are there, and yeah, ppl do land good roles. is university of central missouri worth it? I’d say yes—if u work for it.
I know someone who got into a startup after doing MS CS there, said they focused on building solid projects + internships during breaks. Small-town vibe but safe n budget-friendly. Worth it if you’re not expecting fancy logos but just want to build a career in tech.
