I am aspiring student, and currently in second year of B.Sc in Computer Science. If I want to pursue MBA in abroad, should I have work experience for securing admission at good universities? And i am a bit confused regarding switching from B.Sc to MBA, have asked few people regarding this and have got advice that I should have a work experience of atleast 2-3 years but I wont get any management related job after B.Sc, what should I do next?
I am targeting countries like US, UK and Germany.
Hey, you don’t need to worry about the change of field for pursuing MBA as in today’s world your skills are more valuable, and also some universities offer specialized programs to bridge the gap between non-business backgrounds and MBA programs.
My two cents on your question would be:
- Work Experience definitely counts. MBA globally requires an average work experience of 5-6 years. Working professionally would give you a perspective on where you want to land after your MBA and how to build your career.
- Start researching the MBA early on and focus on getting the GMAT/GRE scores out of the window. This is also a crucial step in the journey; you can get more clarity in the process.
Hope this will help, let me know if you need anything else.
Thank you,
