IELTS score validity for VISA purposes

My IELTS score is set to expire this year, and I plan to retake the exam for visa purposes. If my new score differs from the previous one, could that cause any issues?

Generally, it shouldn’t be an issue as long as your new score meets the requirements for your visa application. The latest score is what matters in most cases.

Absolutely. It’s common for people to retake the test when their score expires. Just ensure that your new score aligns with the visa requirements, and you’ll be fine

True, but make sure you’re prepared. If your new score doesn’t meet the visa requirements, that might create a problem. Have you been practicing for the exam?

Not yet, but I’ll start soon. I just wanted to confirm there wouldn’t be any confusion with two different scores.

There won’t be. The expired score is no longer valid, so only the new one counts.
