I just passed 12th and planning to apply for my undergrad abroad, maybe Canada or UK. I’m confused about how to make my resume stand out. Like what do colleges really look for in a student resume? Also if anyone has a sample resume for abroad application, that would really help.
To make a good resume, there’s an app called Intelligent CV where you can create an excellent and updated resume. In this app, you can enter all your details like what awards you’ve received, which sports you’re good at, which projects you’ve worked on and the app will generate a great resume for you. This resume can help you apply during the abroad admission process.
Don’t worry, most of us feel the same when starting. Keep your resume clean and simple. Highlight your academics, any projects, volunteering work, or competitions you’ve done. Even things like helping in family business or internships after 12th can be shown as experience. I used a sample resume for abroad application from a senior and made changes according to my stuff.
Try using action words like “organized”, “participated”, “assisted” etc. when describing what you’ve done. Even hobbies can matter if presented right. For example, if you write a blog or do YouTube – mention it. I saw a sample resume for abroad application that had a whole section on personal projects, which gave me ideas to include mine too.
