One of the most popular labs is the Robotics one. They have a lot of cool stuff going around and lot of fundings coming in.
Another one is the AI lab under guidance of Prof. JInjun. The professor is like an pioneer of AI at UB. You should definitely get in touch with the professor & ask for any available projects. You could also meet up with any other professor & ask for projects or put forth your idea and see if they are interested.
