How much money do you need for fun activities?

I’ve been checking out videos for incoming freshmen, and they keep saying you gotta stash away like 2 to 5 grand for all the social stuff—parties, city events, outfits, and just random expenses. Is this really how it is at UNC Charlotte?

I know bigger schools might cost more, but what’s your experience been like? I’m into going out and checking out the city, but also chilling at home. Just trying to figure out what I realistically need.

It really depends on how you spend. If your rent, tuition, and school costs are covered, you could get by with saving up a grand or two. Just be smart about it—don’t go out every night or splurge on every little thing you see at the mall.
