How good is University of Michigan really?

Okay so I’ve heard of University of Michigan being called a top college but is it like actually prestigious? Like compared to Stanford or MIT or whatever. Or is it just one of those “good but not that good” types?? Just wanna understand where it stands globally, like the real deal not just website talk. Also saw something about University of Michigan ranking world, how far up is it?

Bro Michigan is legit top tier, especially for stuff like engineering, computer science, business… even public policy. It’s not Ivy League but honestly competes neck to neck with a lot of them. Globally it’s usually ranked around top 20–25 depending on the site. US News and QS both rate it really high. Def not “just good”, it’s elite in a lot of fields.

@Agastya1999 Good question. University of Michigan is genuinely prestigious, especially for a public university. It may not have the same brand pull as Stanford or MIT, but in fields like engineering, business, and public policy, it ranks among the top 10 to 15 globally.

Overall, it’s often in the top 25 worldwide in rankings like QS and Times Higher Education. So no, it’s not just “good”, it’s one of the top schools, especially in terms of academics and value.

Happy to help you compare it with others if you’re considering applying.
