Thinking about applying to the University of Victoria, how does the University of Victoria, Canada ranking actually compare to other universities in Canada and globally? Is it even considered good for international students?
@rVI_8588kundu Hey! I’m from Warangal, Telangana, and I’ve recently got admitted to the University of Victoria (UVic) for the Fall 2025 intake, so I totally get where you’re coming from.
UVic is actually a solid university. As per the QS World Rankings 2025, it’s ranked #322 globally, and in Canada, it’s usually among the top 10 universities in the comprehensive category. It might not be as big a name as U of T or UBC, but trust me, it holds its own, especially when it comes to research, engineering, and sustainability.
One big plus is their co-op program you get actual paid work experience during your course, which is a huge benefit for international students like us. That kind of exposure can really help when it comes to job prospects after graduation.
Also, the campus is really multi-cultural and chill. You’ll find a lot of international students, and the city of Victoria itself is super peaceful and student-friendly way less hectic compared to places like Toronto.
So yeah, definitely worth considering! If you have any doubts, feel free to ask. I’ve been through this recently so happy to help.
