Guys I came across darmstadt university of applied sciences while checking out unis in Germany. I saw some stuff about it being good for applied learning n all, but is it actually worth going there? Like what’s the vibe, teaching, job scene, and darmstadt university of applied sciences ranking etc? Anyone know someone who’s been there?
Yeah I’m looking at that one too. It’s actually one of the top applied sciences universities in Germany I think? Their Engineering & CS stuff is pretty strong. The Darmstadt University of Applied Sciences ranking is usually in the top 10 for UAS-type colleges. Not like TU9 level but still solid. ppl say the profs are chill n focus more on practicals than theory. Not sure about job support actually.
Darmstadt University of Applied Sciences (h_da) is a well-regarded university in Germany, especially for engineering fields like Electrical and Computer Science. It focuses on practical learning with a structured curriculum and a mandatory internship semester. While it doesn’t offer direct job placements, it provides strong industry connections, job fairs, and project opportunities. Being close to Frankfurt is a big plus for job access. It’s a solid choice if you’re looking for hands-on experience and industry-oriented education rather than pure research. POV - I am going to the same university this winter’25.
I had a cousin who studied there in information technology. He said the coursework was intense but hands-on with lot of lab work and real projects. But you gotta learn German to get the best jobs after. Many companies in that region are into automotive and IT, so internships are possible if you network. Also Darmstadt as a city is more student-friendly than big ones like Berlin or Munich, so life’s easier.
