Guys I’m just starting out and want to build a resume… like not for a job exactly but to apply to college applications or just have one ready.
Which is best resume format for freshers? Simple one or the creative kinda one? Does it even matter if i don’t have much to put?
Please go to the Play Store and download the intelligent CV app. Inside the app, you will find different sections like Achievements,Projects, etc. You can open each section and easily create a good resume for higher education.
@Reddy7 If you’re just starting out, don’t worry about making a super fancy resume. A simple, clean one-page format works best for freshers, admissions teams and recruiters prefer something easy to read. Even if you don’t have much experience yet, you can highlight your education, projects, skills, and any small achievements. It’s more about showing potential and clarity rather than flashy designs.
Honestly for freshers, go with a simple clean format… don’t overdo with designs n all unless you’re applying for design roles. Stick to name, contact, career objective (short), education, skills, achievements, projects (even school ones), and maybe certifications. And even if you don’t have internships it’s fine… add school projects or any club work.
Try canva or novoresume for templates, they’ve got some free ones that look pro.
hey @Reddy7, honestly, for freshers, it’s best to keep your resume simple and clean rather than going overboard with fancy designs. Colleges and even recruiters care more about clarity and content than graphics. A one-page resume with clear sections—Education, Skills, Projects, Internships/Experience (if any), Achievements, and Extracurriculars—works perfectly.
Since you’re just starting, focus on:
-
Your education (grades, relevant coursework).
-
Any projects or certifications (even class projects count).
-
Skills (technical, languages, soft skills).
-
Activities or volunteering—shows initiative.
Creative formats are fine for design/arts fields, but for college applications or tech, it’s safer to stick with a professional format. Even if you don’t have loads to put yet, a neat, well-structured resume makes a strong impression.
