GPA to get into University of Sydney?

Anyone knows what GPA is needed to get into University of Sydney for undergrad?

It depends on which course ur lookin at tbh… like comp sci, law, psych etc. are way more competitive.
but generally for indian boards like CBSE or ISC, you might need above 85% for most programs. Some even ask 90+.
if you’re doing IB, they usually want 33–36 points depending on the course.

Yeah i checked their site last week for engineering & it said minimum of like 80–85% for CBSE students but also they look at subjects marks separately sometimes… like maths n physics gotta be solid if u’re goin for STEM they don’t call it GPA always, it’s more % or ATAR equivalent they care about.

Hi @ninetails University of Sydney, they don’t really use “GPA” the way US schools do. It’s more about your high school marks and the system you’re coming from. For most undergrad programs, if you’re an Indian student, they usually want somewhere around 70–80% in Class 12. If you’re applying through IB, A-levels, or another system, they’ll convert it to their entry scale.

Super competitive courses (like medicine or law) will need higher scores, but for most programs, being in the top 20–25% of your class is generally fine. Best bet is to check the entry requirements on the course page you’re interested in, since it does vary.

hey @ninetails For USyd undergrad, you’re usually looking at around an 80% in your final school marks if you’re coming from India (or the equivalent if you’re from another system). Some programs ask for higher, but 80%+ is the general ballpark.

@ninetails The University of Sydney doesn’t have one fixed GPA cut-off for all undergraduate programs it really depends on the stream and the level of competition for that course. In general, international applicants are usually expected to have the equivalent of at least a 3.0 GPA on a 4.0 scale (or around 65–70% in Indian boards), but more competitive programs like business, law, or health sciences may require significantly higher scores, while some others may accept a bit lower. For IB students, a score of 31+ is often cited as the minimum, again depending on the program. So the exact GPA you’ll need will vary by course; it’s always best to check the specific entry requirements for the degree you’re interested in.
