Fall 2020 - Coronavirus impact - what are you planning?

Hello team,
would deferring MS computational finance Georgia tech fall 2020 to fall 2021 be wise? It’s a 1.5 years course, Any idea how would the employment scenario unfold by then (in the USA)?

I have got an admit from a university in Netherlands (Delft University of Technology). The university needs me to transfer a certain amount to their account. So should I wait for things settle down or should I transfer the amount right away?

I am still waiting to hear from some of the universities I applied to. How long should I wait for before I making the final decision? I have an admit from one university

What are your thoughts on impact because of COVID-19 on European countries w.r.t. job opportunities post-studies (Computer Science)?

Just want to know your opinion.

What is worth taking considering everything according to current situation,

Online?
Defer next sem?
Fall 21?

Thanks.

How does my OPT/CPT would be affected if we take online for first semester and then continue in USA for the rest.
what could be the worst scenario if visa gets rejected after online classes for first semester and then continue in USA.

My major is MS in Robotics Engineering , if first semester goes online then what will happen to the projects and laboratories?

Just for your opinion or suggestion what are the chances of attending FALL classes IN CAMPUS? I understand no guess can be made but considering your experience I would just like to know the IN CAMPUS possibilities.

I don’t have collateral and co applicant
Can I get educational loan ?
If yes what are the platforms and on basis they provide me ?
What will be the interest rates, morotorium period ?
If I get educational loan? Do I need to pay monthly emi from the first month when I join to the University?
Dooes they provide me tution fee and expenses ?
Do they disburse the amount to me ?

Sorry missed your answer on deferreal process. Do we need to apply again and compete with other applicants next year or is our seat reserved for next year?

Hi,

Welcome to the session !

Hello,
Actually I have been admitted to San Jose State University which is in California( Badly affected by Covid-19).
1.So is it better to defer to FALL 2021 or start with the online courses. How will it affect CPT and OPT.
2. Actually, I have completed the loan process partially, should I complete the loan process.
Because the sanction letter is valid for 6 months and we are still unsure about the situation.

Hi,

My course from University of Washington is having summer start , i.e. it is about to start in 1st week of June. Is it possible at all that I can get loan, visa on time?
I have checked with university, and they are firm about the June start for the program.
Is it wise to attend one year masters course? I will be graduating in June 2021, will that be ok?
I am yet to submit the documents to SBI for loan process. The valuation and search report from SBI lawyer is taking longer time, its already been more than a month myself and Gyandhan coordinator is following up with them.
Please suggest.

Thanks,

Hi.

I’m a Fall 2020 applicant with an interest in Computer Science. I currently have an offer from a university of interest.

  1. Should I attend classes in Fall 2020 (if classes are held on campus) or should I defer my admission? My aim is to obtain maximum ROI and securing a job in the US (what position will the market/industry be in 2 years).
  2. Is there a fixed amount of applications that a university takes into consideration for deferment? If so, what happens if that threshold is exhausted?
  3. How competitive are admissions going to be for Fall 2021?

Thank you in advance

Do you recommend NBFCs or Private banks for unsecured loans? Also how will the interest rates vary due to COVID-19?

Hi you just mentioned that in the current scenario it will be best to take loan from banks however banks require collateral so wouldn’t the market value of the collateral also come out less?

Hi,

I have got an admit from the Harvard Kennedy School for Masters in Public Policy Program scheduled to begin in Fall 2020. I plan to loan an amount of around USD 80K + USD 40K to finance my studies from a nationalized Indian bank and US lender at ROI around 9% and 6% respectively.

Given the uncertainties, how should I look at paying back my EMI’s in 2022 post graduation. My EMI’s are coming out to be around INR 1.1 Lakh, will the job opportunities post graduation offer me enough financial remuneration to cover my EMI
s? How should I assess the impact of the present COVID 19 situation on my ability to repay EMIs of INR 1 Lakh+
