Connecting with people in organizations appears to be more straightforward compared to classrooms. This is perhaps because we’re all primarily focused on our academic pursuits. Despite attempting to engage in GroupMe discussions, I’ve found that responses are either lacking in the necessary information or participants are unresponsive. On the contrary, being part of organizations like Dodgeball, H4H, or MDSO brings a sense of fulfillment. Dodgeball, in particular, serves as a cathartic outlet for releasing any built-up frustration. In H4H and MDSO, I find joy in the process of learning new things and contributing to meaningful causes. How is everyone else doing?

Hey Neeraj,
That is often true for most universities. It isn’t easy to engage with your classmates. Sports and academic groups are meant for mingling. People tend to connect better with like-minded folks. If you’re in a dodgeball club, everyone knows you either play dodgeball or at least are interested in it.
I started my own organization when there wasn’t one in my University. I started the Entrepreneurship Club in UT Arlington. I met so many people, I spoke to many other presidents of organizations in getting help. I could reach out to different professors because of the position, and network and communicate with them to organize events. I still meet many new people through the events which I organize, and when I go to other orgs events.
