Hey guys I’m confused about the Duolingo English test. I’ve seen students talk abt estimated score and real score…like, what’s the difference?? is estimated one not final or something? Anyone know clearly about this?

Hey @Rakesh34 The estimated score on Duolingo is just what you get right after finishing the test kind of like a preview. The real score comes later after Duolingo checks your video, audio, and answers for any issues which takes about 2 days. The final score can be the same or slightly different from the estimate.
Hi @Rakesh34, That’s a great question this actually confuses a lot of test-takers.
- The estimated score is what you see immediately after finishing the Duolingo English Test. It gives you a rough idea of how you did, but it’s not official.
- The real or certified score comes after Duolingo finishes reviewing your test, usually within 48 hours. That’s the score that universities actually accept.
So yes, the estimated score isn’t final. Only the certified score counts when you’re applying.
