British Columbia Institute of Technology (BCIT) was established in 1964. BCIT’s focus lies in creating a job-ready workforce that would be able to contribute from day one of industry employment. The students are rigorously trained in current advanced technologies through industrial partnerships, fieldwork, and other on-campus practical sessions.
BCIT has six schools under it, and they are the school of business, school of computing & academic studies, school of construction & the environment, school of energy, school of health sciences, and school of transportation.
BCIT is present in five main campuses, namely Burnaby Campus, Downtown Campus, Marine Campus, Aerospace Technology Campus, and Annacis Island Campus. Additionally, they operate on various satellite campuses across British Columbia too. Burnaby Campus is the largest campus and houses various specialized learning spaces, labs, simulators, shops, and other main facilities. Downtown campus is home to technological education and Information Technology learning space. Aerospace Technology campus is widespread and has 20 aircrafts thus making BCIT the second-largest aerospace training provider in Canada. Marine Campus has an indoor pool and advanced simulators allowing marine engineering students to have practical experiences in a safe environment. Annacis Island campus offers programs that deal with heavy mechanical trades.
BCIT offers over 300+ programs. Around 50000 students enroll in BCIT annually including both full-time and part-time students. For more information https://www.gyandhan.com/schools/british-columbia-institute-of-technology-burnaby
