I’m an Indian student interested in applying to universities in the United States. I’ve taken the JEE exam, and I’m wondering if my JEE scores can be considered for admission.
Is it possible to gain admission to US universities based on JEE performance? If so, what is the application process, and are there specific requirements or procedures I should be aware of? Are there particular types of US institutions (e.g., certain rankings or sizes) where JEE scores are more likely to be considered?
Generally, US universities don’t directly use JEE scores for admissions. The JEE is primarily for Indian institutions. US universities have their own standardized tests, like the SAT or ACT, that they usually require.
However, it’s not entirely useless! A good JEE score can be part of a strong application. It demonstrates your aptitude in math and science, which are relevant for many STEM programs. You can mention it in your application, especially if it’s a high score, but it won’t be the primary factor
So, it’s not a direct ticket, but it can be a supporting factor. What’s the application process like then? Do I just focus on the SAT/ACT and forget about the JEE?
