Can Indian MBBS/MD doctors work abroad?

I’ve seen people doing MBBS or MD in India but then moving abroad… like can they actually work as doctors there? Or do they have to study again? Do other countries even accept Indian medical degrees?

Depends on where you go honestly… like uk, us, australia all hv their own exams. Even if you have mbbs from india, u can’t just land there and start treating ppl

For eg: in the US, u gotta clear USMLE (that’s like 3 steps). Without it you can’t practice as a doctor there.
But indian degree does help… you just need to pass their licensing process.

Ya true. In countries like Russia, Middle East, Nepal, Indian mbbs is seen as decent and you can get into medical jobs with maybe just some local tests or paperwork.
But like canada n germany? Wayyy more complex. Either language tests or big licensing exams
So yeah, Indian mbbs isn’t useless but it’s not a golden ticket either

If you are planning to go abroad later, better check that country’s rules now itself, as some people do MBBS in India and then PG in UK/US. So they get international exposure + better pay. Also u can look into global pathways like PLAB (for UK) or AMC (for australia). These things matter more than just the degree name tbh :100:
