Can I get into UCLA or Berkeley with a low GPA?

Hey, just wondering if someone with a GPA around 2.3 still has a shot at getting into UCLA or UC Berkeley? Also, is there any chance of getting financial aid? Or is it like super unrealistic?

Hey don’t lose hope yet! UC schools are super competitive, especially UCLA and Berkeley, but GPA isn’t everything. if you have a strong story, extracurriculars, maybe great essays—those things can really help. they look at the whole picture, not just numbers. but yeah, 2.3 is low for those schools, not gonna lie.

Agree with this, also, you might want to look into transfer options. like start at a community college in California, do well there, and then transfer into UCLA or Berkeley. a lot of students do this and it’s totally legit. plus, you get more time to bring up your GPA. and financial aid is definitely possible once you’re in the UC system, especially for in-state and even some out-of-state students.

Yeah totally. and there’s also the chance of finding similar schools that are a bit less competitive but still amazing. sometimes they’re more generous with aid too. plus, private colleges sometimes care less about GPA and more about who you are as a person. keep your options open—you’d be surprised where you might end up if you put effort into the essays and apps. don’t count yourself out just yet :slightly_smiling_face:
