Hey everyone! I’m an incoming freshman CS major. I don’t have much coding experience I’m really interested in joining clubs, doing hackathons, and getting involved, but I’m worried I might not understand or be able to contribute since I’m still a beginner.
Can freshmen with limited experience still participate in all the CS clubs? Any advice or tips would be appreciated! Thanks!
You can join any organization you want. Every club has a membership fee, and some clubs don’t. For a CS Major, I would suggest HackUTA, and Engineering Student Council.
HackUTA organizes hackathons, and they are really good. There is also cybersecurity club and acm. These both are also active. You will find them on instagram.
You can also start your own organization. That will help you in networking and leadership and while applying for jobs.
