ATAS certificate for UK Skilled work visa

I am filling up my ATAS Application form for a job at University of Exeter. In personal details section there is a requirement of NATIONAL IDENTIFICATION NO. I am from India, what should I provide?

Hi @Torsa_Sengupta

Congratulations on securing a job at the University of Exeter.

A national identification number is a unique numerical code or identifier assigned to an individual by a government or authorized authority within a country. It is used to uniquely identify individuals for various purposes, such as identification, record-keeping, and administrative processes.

While filling out your ATAS application form for a job at the University of Exeter, you must provide your Indian national identification number. The Aadhar number is the unique national identification number in India for citizens. Provide your Aadhar number in the form to proceed further with the application.

If you don’t have an Aadhar number, alternatively, you can fill out the form using your voter ID, PAN, or any other government-issued identification number. However, if you don’t have any of these documents, you may leave the space for the national identification number and contact the HR department of the University of Exeter immediately. They will guide you when you don’t have a national identification number to provide.

Kindly let me know if you have any further queries. Wish you all the best!
