Recent CS grad (9.11 CGPA), aiming for Data Science/AI/ML Masters in Germany (Winter 2025). 3-month internship, planning 6-month job/internship. B1 German (2/4 modules passed), IELTS 7. Research-focused, PhD goal.
Questions:
- Is Germany a good study choice with part-time work, given my German B1 progress?
- Any research tips for AI/ML (or any field), globally, for a future PhD?
Hi @agnihotri_yuvan,
Germany is a great choice for your Master’s, especially in Data Science, AI, or ML. With your strong CGPA, a 3-month internship, and progress in German (B1), you’re already well prepared. Many top universities offer English-taught programs, and your German skills will help with part-time jobs and everyday life. As a student, you’re allowed to work 120 full days or 240 half days per year, which is usually enough to support basic living costs. To prepare for a future PhD, start reading research papers, build small AI/ML projects on GitHub, and try to get involved in research or assistant roles during your studies. Germany values focused, research-minded students and you’re on the right track.
