APS Application: DigiLocker Transcripts Instead of Portal Access?

I received the APS application email today, and they’re requesting one of the following:

  1. A link to my active student portal with login credentials, or
  2. A link to my results page on my university’s website with the credentials used to access it.

Unfortunately, I don’t have access to either of these. All my academic transcripts are available on DigiLocker. Will providing my DigiLocker transcripts be sufficient for the APS application?

That’s a good question. DigiLocker is generally accepted as official, since it’s a government-backed platform. But the APS email specifically asks for portal or website links. It’s probably best to clarify directly with APS.

I agree. Don’t assume anything. Reach out to them and explain the situation. Say that your transcripts are officially available on DigiLocker and ask if that’s acceptable. Provide the link to your DigiLocker profile or the specific transcript documents, just in case.

Okay, I’ll email them right away. I’m just worried because the email makes it sound like those specific links are mandatory.

Yeah, I understand the concern. But sometimes these automated emails aren’t entirely flexible. A personal email to APS explaining the situation is the best way to go. They might have a process for handling this, or they might just say DigiLocker is fine.

Exactly. And in your email, mention that DigiLocker is a secure platform for storing and sharing verified documents. That might reassure them. Also, attach copies of your transcripts from DigiLocker to the email, as a proactive measure.

Good idea! I’ll do that. It’s just stressful waiting to hear back. I hope they accept DigiLocker; it’s so much easier than trying to track down old login details or contacting the university.
