Hey guys! I’m in 12th grade and thinking about doing my Master’s at SUNY University at Buffalo in the future. Just wondering—what’s life like for grad students there? Any cool hacks to make things easier? Like saving money, finding a good place to stay, balancing coursework, or even getting part-time jobs? Would love to hear from students who’ve been there!
Oh man, first thing—housing. Start looking early! Most grad students live off-campus since dorms are limited. North Campus is nicer but pricier, South Campus is cheaper. Also, join Facebook housing groups—tons of international students sublet when they leave.
Grad school = intense. Plan your schedule wisely and go to office hours—professors actually want to help. And if you need a solid study spot, Lockwood Library is a lifesaver. Some sections are open 24/7 for those late-night grinds.
If you’re thinking about part-time jobs, apply early. On-campus jobs are competitive but worth it. Also, try for TA/RA positions—they can waive tuition or at least pay decently. Networking with professors before applying helps!
