Australia’s Student Visa Rules 2025: What’s New?

Starting January 2025, the Government of Australia has updated its student visa policies to improve transparency and streamline applications.

Here’s what international students need to know:

CoE Now Mandatory – The Confirmation of Enrolment (CoE), a digital document confirming enrollment, replaces the Letter of Offer as the key document for visa applications. Without it, applications will be invalid.

This applies to both onshore and offshore students. A valid CoE is required to renew your visa and avoid issues like being denied a bridging visa.

Exemption for Older Applications – If you’ve submitted your application before January 1, 2025, with a Letter of Offer, don’t worry. Your application remains valid under the new rules.
