The TOEFL consists of 4 sections - Reading, Writing, Speaking and Listening. Since each section has its own aim and objective and evaluates your overall understanding of the language, it is imperative to pay attention to and excel at all the sections equally. All the sectional scores contribute to the overall score. Further, most universities evaluate students not only on the basis of their overall scores but also sectional scores, the minimum criteria of which are usually set high. However, candidates usually prepare the Reading, Listening and Writing sections with ease, paying less attention to the Speaking section. Students should know that The TOEFL speaking section is not as easy as it may sound and can easily make or break your TOEFL score.
