Can we defer our admission to the university?

@dinesh I don’t believe the university gives you the option to defer your admission. It is one of the frequently asked questions due to the pandemic. As far as I know, the application is valid only for one term and if you wish to enroll in another term, you will have to apply again.

Hey, thanks! Due to some financial issues, I was planning to defer. Would you happen to know when they make a decision on the applications?

@dinesh Depend on the session you applied for. If you applied for the Fall session, you’d have received the decision by now. For Fall sessions, they make a decision by March or April. For the Spring session, I would suggest waiting till November to get the decision. You can check the status of the application on your portal.

Does UNCC require GRE scores?

@Meenakshi_Sood
It actually depends on the course you want to pursue. Most Masters or Ph.D. programs require GRE scores.

I’m planning to apply for MS in CS. So, do I need GRE scores for that?
Thanks in advance

@Meenakshi_Sood
Yes. For MS in CS, you’d be required to submit the GRE score.

Would you say that Indian students get good job placements from UNCC?

@rashmin The answer is yes and no. It actually depends on you and your efforts. You will have to apply for as many as 50 positions in a day to get a callback. The main platform to search for jobs is LinkedIn. So trying to convert those calls into an opportunity would depend on you. Even without prior experience, you can get a job if your resume is strong.

If anyone can help me with tuition fees that international students need to pay? How do I calculate the fees?

Also how much of that amount do I need to show during the visa interview?

What are the basic admission requirements for MS in CS at UNCC?

The amount to be shown during the visa should be at least 1.5 times the amount mentioned in your I-20. This is an estimate that people generally follow.

the amount mentioned on the I-20 is for the year. How do we calculate the tuition fees? Its different from what’s mentioned on the uni website.

The amount mentioned on your I-20 is inclusive of tuition fees, living expenses, hostel fees, etc. The tuition fee is calculated based on the number of credits required and courses you have opted. The amount mentioned on the website is an estimate figure for the year.
