hello, I’m a third year media student. i am planning to go to canada for pgdiploma or graduate certification course in advertising, pr and marketing. what are some of the best colleges or universities you would suggest ? also what scholarships are available for the same?

Hi @anjo,

Some of the top universities for Advertising, PR and Marketing are as follows -

  1. Concordia University
  2. McGill University
  3. University of The Fraser Valley
  4. York University
  5. McMaster University
  6. University of Waterloo
  7. University of Toronto

Some more colleges that you can explore are Fanshawe College, Humber College, Centennial College, Conestoga College, and Seneca College. I’d suggest focusing more on these colleges as they provide certificate and diploma courses. Canadian universities as mentioned above mostly offer MSc degrees in your target course.

Read about these universities and colleges here - Top Universities in Canada | GyanDhan

Scholarships -
Colleges and universities mentioned offer scholarships to international students in the form of merit-based tuition fee waivers. The information for the same is mentioned on the university website. If not stated on the website, do contact the department once. Universities do set aside some need-based scholarships for international students.

Apart from the scholarships offered by the universities and colleges, you can also apply for scholarships offered by external organizations, such as -

  1. KC Mahindra Scholarship
  2. JN Tata Endowment Scholarships
  3. Inlaks Foundation Scholarship
  4. Erasmus Mundus Scholarship
  5. The Lady Meherbai D Tata Education Trust Scholarship
  6. Ontario Graduate Scholarships
  7. Canada Graduate Scholarships

NOTE - The first five scholarships mentioned are for a full-time master’s degree. Since you are applying for a PG Diploma/Graduate Certificate, you might not be eligible for them. Though, I’d suggest you apply anyway.

I hope this helps you. If you have any further doubts, do post on the thread. I’d be happy to help.
All the best!
