Ok so I’m looking at unis in the US and I came across both Ohio university and Ohio state university… are they the same?? Or which is the better one?? Like what’s the actual difference I’m kinda confused

Ohio State is way bigger and more well-known… their sports scene is crazy, like big football games and all. Also, it is better for research and overall ranking. Just checked – Ohio State University world ranking is like top 150 or smth. I think Ohio University is smaller and more chill, more of a classic college vibe. Depends on what you are going for.
People mix them up all the time 
I applied to both, lol, but Ohio State has more options course-wise… engineering, cs, even business is stronger. Ohio University is still good, tho especially for journalism and health stuff. But Ohio State definitely feels more competitive and city-like, while Ohio uni is more laidback and in a smaller town. Both are solid in their own ways tbh, just different vibes
