Understanding the CSS Profile for International Students | GyanDhan
Higher studies in the United States can be very expensive, especially for Indian students. The average cost of studying in the U.S. is INR 50 lakhs, and that is only the tuition fees. However, some private colleges provide financial aid through the CSS profile. CSS full form in education is College Scholarship Service. This application is used to determine a student's financial need and allocate financial aid accordingly. Please note that this application allocates institutional funds and not the federal funds. The CSS Profile is different from FAFSA (Free Application for Federal Student Aid), which is only available to U.S. citizens and eligible non-citizens. International students cannot apply for FAFSA but can apply for IFSAA (International Student Financial Aid Application).
